Hi, I’m Crista!
I’m a writer, knitter, fiber artist, researcher, and strategist based in Portland, Oregon.
My work lives at the intersection of storytelling, creativity, research, and community. I write fiction and nonfiction, design knitting patterns, and have spent more than twenty years working across consulting, technology, design, education, marketing, and the outdoor industry.
I’m also a published sport psychology researcher, co-author of an academic book forthcoming from Rutgers University Press, and the founder of Dirtbag Runners, an international running community.
These days, much of my creative work centers around stories, fiber arts, spending time in nature, and the ways making things can become a kind of magic.
